Pet of the Week

Founded in 2000 on little more than a huge heart and a passion for animal welfare, Noah Project set out to change the lives of West Michigan dogs and cats, whose only offense was to find themselves neglected, homeless and unwanted.

With a small permanent staff of dedicated individuals, a core group of tireless volunteers, a visionary board of directors and a bounty of generous donors, Noah Project has strived to become West Michigan’s premier safe haven for abused and abandoned pets.  A place where playful and affectionate dogs and cats can know safety, care and love, for the first time in their life for some, until that special person comes through the door and offers the forever home they so deserve.

Since the founding of Noah Project, over 3,000 dogs and  cats have found a warm heart and a safe, loving home through the efforts of the staff and your generosity; Dogs and cats that only wanted a second chance in life.  Dogs and cats that otherwise might have been hit by a car, attacked by another animal or put to sleep.  No.  Let’s say it correctly.  Perfectly wonderful dogs and cats that otherwise might have needlessly died.

Yet, with the worsening economic situation that we all face, the need has never been greater.  There remains much work to be done.  Each day, dogs and cats are being turned loose to fend for themselves, because their owner can’t or won’t care for them.  Each year, un-neutered cats and dogs give birth to litters of kittens and puppies in an area already over-populated with unwanted animals.  There are no easy answers or quick fix solutions.  But, through it all, Noah Project remains true to its mission – no animal that finds its way into Noah Project care will ever suffer from abuse or neglect again.

All of us furry "kids" at Noah Project wish to thank you for your continued generous support.  We are the fortunate ones, because without you our future would be bleak.  Our only wish is that more can be done; more dogs and cats saved from needless suffering.

We invite you to stop in, say hello, pet a furry head; maybe, get a kiss or two.  Maybe, even, one of us will touch your heart to the point where you will want us to share your home and your life.  That would be the best!

In the meantime, please enjoy our new website.  Although it is a work-in-progress, we hope to keep it fresh, up-to-date and full of useful and imprtant information about us and our shelter.

As always, your comments, suggestions and ideas are welcomed and encouraged.

Thank you!
